School management for Nepal

Run the school, not the registers.

Kiko brings admissions, attendance, fees, exams, staff pay and parents into one system made for schools in Nepal. Everyone sees their own part, on the web or on their phone.

A school day on Kiko

From the first bus to the last question at night.

Eight moments from one ordinary day. None of them needs a register, a round of phone calls or a queue at the accounts window.

  1. Bus 3 leaves Lakeside

Parents watch it on the map and know when to walk to the stop.

    Live bus map
  2. Aarav taps in at the gate

His mother gets a note before he reaches his classroom.

    Arrival note sent
  3. Every class is marked

Teachers mark from their phones. The office knows who is missing before first period ends.

    1,148 of 1,192 in
  4. First terminal marks go in

Report cards fill in as each subject teacher finishes. Nobody retypes a mark.

    Class 8: 6 of 7 subjects
  5. Lunch without cash

Students pay at the canteen from their card, and parents see what was bought.

    Veg momo · Rs. 80.00
  6. Fee reminders go out

Only to families who owe, by app or SMS, each with a QR to pay.

    64 families
  7. Leave approved from a phone

The principal approves Mr. Karki's two days off. His classes already have cover.

    Cover arranged
  8. A parent asks Kiko

"When does the first terminal exam start?" The answer comes from the school's own calendar.

For everyone at school

Each person sees their part of the school.

Know how the school is doing before assembly.

  • One morning brief: who is in, money received, staff away, and what is waiting for you.
  • Approve leave, purchases and refunds from your phone, with the reason and the money beside each.
  • Term results by class and subject on the day the last marks are in.

Fee day without the queue.

  • Bills for every student from your own fee rules, with sibling and scholarship discounts applied.
  • Families pay by QR, bank or at the counter, and the receipt reaches their phone.
  • Your books stay in step with every receipt, ready for IRD's online billing.

Mark the class in a minute. Teach the rest of the period.

  • Attendance from your phone. Absent students' parents hear right away.
  • Enter marks once. Report cards, ranks and term results follow.
  • Homework and class notes reach every family without a notebook signature.

Know your child is safe, and what is due, without calling school.

  • The bus on a map, and a note when your child boards and arrives.
  • Fees, receipts, results and notices in one app, for every child you have at the school.
  • School event photos where your own child appears, with your consent.

Many campuses, one view.

  • Cash in bank and in hand across every campus, each morning.
  • Compare enrolment, fee collection and staff cost campus by campus.
  • One circular to every campus, with who has read it.
Ask Kiko

Ask your school a question. Out loud, in Nepali or English.

Principals ask about money and attendance. Teachers ask about their classes. Parents ask about their own child. Kiko answers from your school's records and can act on the answer when you say so.

It only answers with what that person's role is allowed to see.

Made for schools in Nepal

It already works the way your school does.

Bikram Sambat first

Terms, holidays, fee months and report cards follow BS. Anyone who prefers AD can switch for themselves.

Nepali and English

Screens, notices and spoken answers in the language each person chooses.

On every phone

Apps for parents and staff, and SMS for families who do not use one.

Fees the way families pay

QR from the wallets and banks families already use, bank transfer or cash at the counter, with a receipt every time.

Bring your records

We move in your Excel sheets, Tally books and old software, and check the totals with you before you switch.

Your school's own website

Notices, gallery, admissions and job openings, kept fresh from the same place.

IEMIS-ready records

Each student's government fields are tracked, so the IEMIS and Flash numbers come out ready, with a list of what is still missing.

NEB grades and GPA

Letter grades and GPA on the NEB scale, on every report card and mark sheet.

Attendance machines

Kiko reads the punch machines schools already use for staff and student attendance, and we keep adding more.

How you start

Switching takes weeks, not a whole session.

We move your records in, train each team, and turn on one part at a time, so the office never stops.

  1. Week 1

    Your records come in

Students, families, fee balances and staff, from Excel, Tally or your old software. Your accountant checks the totals before anything goes live.

  2. Week 2

    Fees and attendance go live

The accounts office and class teachers start first, with training at school or online.

  3. Week 3

    Parents join

Families get the app, and SMS reaches everyone who does not use it.

  4. Week 4 onward

    Exams, pay and the rest

Turn on the other parts term by term, at the pace that suits your school.

The smoothest start is before the new session in Baisakh. Mid-session works too: this session's balances and marks come with you.
One named person from Kiko stays with you through your first term.
No new hardware. A computer for the office and the phones your staff already carry are enough.
Trust

Your school's records stay your school's.

Student records, family details and money deserve care. Here is what we promise.

Kept apart

Each school's records are separate from every other school's.

Two-step sign-in

Require it for the people who handle money and records.

A history on every record

Who changed what, and when, is kept and cannot be edited.

Backed up every day

Copies are kept away from the main server.

Founding schools

Be one of the first schools on Kiko.

We are starting with a few schools. Tell us what your school needs: when it would help many schools, we build it into Kiko for everyone.

  • Setup, training and moving your records included.
  • Your first-year price held for three years.
  • Ask for what your school needs. If it helps many schools, we build it.
  • A direct line to the team that builds Kiko.

Questions

What schools ask us first.

Talk to a person Sunday to Friday, 10 AM to 5 PM Use the chat on this page Help center in Nepali and English
How much does Kiko cost?
It depends on the number of students and the parts you use. You get a written quote after the walkthrough, and setup, training and moving your records are part of it.
We already use other software. Can we move?
Yes. We bring in students, families, fee balances and staff from Excel, Tally or your old system, and check the totals with you before you switch over.
Can we start in the middle of a session?
Yes. This session's fee balances and marks so far come with you. Starting before the new session in Baisakh is the smoothest.
Do we need new hardware?
No. A computer for the office and the phones your staff already carry are enough. If you have punch machines for attendance, tell us the model and we will check that Kiko reads it.
Do parents need a smartphone?
No. Families without the app get SMS for attendance, fees and notices.
Will our staff need training?
We train each team on the parts they use. Every screen also has help built in, in Nepali and English.
Who can see our school's data?
Only the people at your school you give access to, and only the parts their role allows.
What if we decide to leave?
Your records are yours. You can export them at any time, and we hand over a complete copy if you leave.
